DREAMS DO COME TRUE!!!
IT ALL STARTED BACK IN 2015….
Those who know us know, know that we have been in the look for a kitchen of our own for such a long time. Since we started our company in Colorado in 2015, we have been working in many different commissary kitchens, from Loveland to here in Fort Collins. We have traveled back and forth carrying everything… It is hard work I will not deny it, but it is also one that has such beautiful rewards. For a moment there we had the opportunities to have our own kitchen and for a few months we did and it was great, but it still was not our dream but a great place to be alone. We got a taste of how amazing things can be when you create your own environment. We look into buying property, we also had the opportunity to own the what is now Little on Mountain, but just things were not feeling right here or there so we kept ourselves flexible and hopeful that one day we could have our own little kitchen.
A VERY CLEAR DREAM
Juli and I always dreamt about have an open kitchen so people could get to see the action… as cooking is very entertaining to see. We always dream that our kitchen would be small, and with a huge center table where everyone who work with us would share the same space as we all cook together and chat about life. We wanted subway white tiles all over and mostly wood as well with plants here and there. A walkin cooler was a must as in order to cater one or two weddings a week we needed space to store our creations while making it all close to the weekend. We have always wanted to have a small deli and a store front so we could also extend our creations to the community. But we knew that catering always had to be our main focus.
THE OPPORTUNITY
It the most difficulties of times, when our business pretty much shut down, after planning a 2020 wedding season that looked like a perfect season with lots of weddings, and spaces in our calendar to take some time off, and to travel we were ready for the year. But soon that path got very blurry with the arrival of COVID-19. It truck the heart of our business as this new virus spread while humans gathered… it really came and it struck in our achilles heel. We went from the best season to a complete stop. This was around March and the works was yet to come not just for us but for many business and people. We got lucky as we had some savings and also one of my brothers had just moved to Fort Collins and wanted to invest in the company. He had seen it grow from distance and wanted to be a part of it. He really came in the worst time but at the same moment it happened to be the best time for us. We suddenly had the time to venture into creating our own kitchen. Many kitchen business went under and there was great opportunity for us. We got lucky as life opened an amazing place in the heart of West Campus on Elizabeth’s street. We started to work with a friend who is an architect. (Mick Aller) to start shaping the opportunity. My brother became a silent partner (shhh don’t tell anyone 😜) and with a few friends here and there we embarked into the adventure. Times of struggles are also times for opportunities… if want wishes to see it that way. We decided to head into what was going to be a the perfect storm of 2020. Pandemic, politics, climate, all collapsed into a one very harsh year.
THE OUTCOME
It is 2021 and we had just open the kitchen two weeks ago!! Sorry for this but holy shit we are so happy!! It took us 8 months to build it with some amazing workers who pour their heart into the kitchen. We are so thankful for their efforts and now we are cooking and having a great time in our kitchen. I will not bore you more with all this writing and will show you some amazing pictures from John Robson who is amazing with cameras!!

A few days ago, Chef John M. Verderame, a talented Chef and one of the teachers at Front Range Community College gave us a call to see if we could help and be judges for his “Garde Manger Culinary Final Practical Exam”. There where three of us, including Trish from The Cooking Studio!! We obviously said Yes!! What better way to influence our Community New Chefs-On-The-Rise, than to meet them personally, try their food and have the humbleness to help them keep moving forward in their career path. What an honor!! Their food was fantastic and they deserve the best wishes in this very passionate career path.

Last year a great friend and awesome photographer (John Robson) was in one of our events and realize that we had very sustainable practices in our catering company and he suggested to get in touch with his good friends from the City of Fort Collins Organization called ClimateWise. So we did, we met for coffee and signed up to be part of the businesses minds that are shaping our sustainable world here in the Community.

WE RECEIVED A RECOGNITION FROM THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS FOR SUSTAINABILITY!!
Last year a great friend and awesome photographer (John Robson) was in one of our events and realize that we had very sustainable practices in our catering company and he suggested to get in touch with his good friends from the City of Fort Collins Organization called ClimateWise. So we did, we met for coffee and signed up to be part of the businesses minds that are shaping our sustainable world here in the Community.
We are very excited to be part of ClimateWise, as they speak a true love for our nature. Juli & I are very aware of the devastation we are doing to our communities and world with the justification of making money. The crazy part is that we will still make money, we are just not going to destroy ourselves in the same time. We just need to shape our minds to follow the natural laws of coexistence… and that is what Juli y Juan’s Kitchen is all about. We want to show our community that being a catering company we can change and our economic goals will not go down, actually in the contrary they are going up. We have an ethical responsibility to nature, and I would love to see the day that we can all understand this simple concept so no one has to worry about our long term existence as humans in this gorgeous planet.
We want to thank everyone that became part of this day, and that celebrated this important milestone in our community. We hope to see more and more companies join us so we can keep planning for a better future for us, our kids, and all living organisms in our world. Special thanks to The City of Fort Collins and to the great people of ClimateWise for this amazing opportunity!!! We look forward to continue becoming more efficient in the years to come!! Last year, we got a call from a company that focuses on finding new talent around the world and helping some of the emerging companies by doing some research about what are the new trends and what are they doing. So, we talk to them and then filled a form to participate. We had no real idea what was all this about so we just follow through and life continued… a few months past and then suddenly we got an email saying that we had been selected as “Best Catering Company in 2018 - Colorado” for the “Lux Life Magazine Global Wedding Awards”…
My first question was, this must be wrong… haha but, How is it that we won? and how did you guys came to this conclusion? Click here to see their process… We needed to understand before we went out there in the world shouting something.
They explained the process that they go through it and well… apparently we did received this award!!… Not only that but we also made it to their Magazine with a one page issue, and sent us a trophy!!! Yaii!!
We are proud to say that our very small catering company from Fort Collins Colorado won an award that represent the whole state.
We want to thank everyone that has supported us since the beginning, you out there know perfectly who you are, and we will forever be grateful with everyone else who had giving us the opportunity to express our love for the Culinary Arts!!.

Nothing call our attention as a new challenge to mage magic with new artist. This past January 31st we traveled to Berthoud where we had our first appearance and collaboration with another set of artistic hands in the world of Breweing beer. Alongside John & Whitney, owners of City Star Brewing Co., we both joined our artistry and performed for 50 happy epicureans the delightful art of pairing. What an amazing and joyful time!!

When Love Meets Food
Thank You For Being You
I have to say that meeting Peter and Liz was like a fun roller coaster. On our first meeting there was not much open, but as we all started to get to know each other a great communication was open and the excitement of planning the food sparked and we where all in the same awesome train to make a fantastic adventure together.
The tasting was one that we would never forget. As you all may know we do our tasting in our clients home and they invite a few friends to have 6 in total, they bring alcohol, we bring food and it is a personal in-home chef experience, a small ‘taste’ of what their menu was all going to be about. We all had a great time, made the necessary arrangement and off we where ready for the next steps.
Wedding Day
This is when all the planning and all the details come into play. Since we all had a great communication we where all ready to enjoy their selection of food choices and just ready to have a great time at The Preserve at Bingham Hill Event Center.

We are always so grateful to our adventurers to open with us and allow us to express what we love the most; to cook and be marry around great people with courage to express their love.
