GRATEFUL TO HAVE SURVIVED…
First and foremost we are grateful to the people of this wonderful country for helping us survive two very hard years. Going into the pandemic was impossible to understand what to expect. Life started to be on a weekly basis, even a daily basis, and to tell you the truth it continues until today. We were forced with options that we obviously were not ready to face, nor prepared. But that is life after all. What we did?… We decided to keep growing in hopes that we would be able to sustain our momentum and our believe that kindness, community, love, compassion and good food could take us though the Covid Storm.
Part of this article is about this journey. How we had to re-invent our kitchen in order to adapt and evolve with the ever-changing days and rules in our community. We decided not only to cater our weddings and events but to create a kitchen design to cater the community. So we can all continue to enjoy great food while we moved our lives into our homes. After all not everyone likes or know how to cook, the same way we relay on other artists to help us enjoy their crafts.

Now 2022 we are still standing, with plenty of bruises but still cooking. To our surprise a wonderful friendship with our Photographer John Robson helped us connect with a wonderful magazine “Edible” that has been supporting food related small business in general. Helping them tell the story to the community, tell a story of survival and evolution, adaptation and redesign of the restaurant businesses. In Pg. 16 the article “RESTAURANTS REINVENTED” is where the fun is. Take a peak and we hope you enjoy the wonderful piece put together by a magnificent team from Cognoscenti Creative & Edible Magazine. Carly de Filippo, Lauren de Fillipo & Ashley Kirkovish, and I am sure plenty more behind it. We are forever grateful for this wonderful opportunity and the trust to tell our story. Now, the waters and storms are not yet completely calm, actually we are realizing that life is like the vast ocean… ever moving, ever changing with storms here and there, and once or twice in a century the whole world is involve in one big scary storm… and here is where we all need to hold hands and help us all stay alive and a float, after all we are all floating in this gorgeous blue bubble in a vast space, so we might as well choose to keep each other safe.

Last year a great friend and awesome photographer (John Robson) was in one of our events and realize that we had very sustainable practices in our catering company and he suggested to get in touch with his good friends from the City of Fort Collins Organization called ClimateWise. So we did, we met for coffee and signed up to be part of the businesses minds that are shaping our sustainable world here in the Community.
We are very excited to be part of ClimateWise, as they speak a true love for our nature. Juli & I are very aware of the devastation we are doing to our communities and world with the justification of making money. The crazy part is that we will still make money, we are just not going to destroy ourselves in the same time. We just need to shape our minds to follow the natural laws of coexistence… and that is what Juli y Juan’s Kitchen is all about. We want to show our community that being a catering company we can change and our economic goals will not go down, actually in the contrary they are going up. We have an ethical responsibility to nature, and I would love to see the day that we can all understand this simple concept so no one has to worry about our long term existence as humans in this gorgeous planet.
We want to thank everyone that became part of this day, and that celebrated this important milestone in our community. We hope to see more and more companies join us so we can keep planning for a better future for us, our kids, and all living organisms in our world. Special thanks to The City of Fort Collins and to the great people of ClimateWise for this amazing opportunity!!! We look forward to continue becoming more efficient in the years to come!! I have to say that meeting Peter and Liz was like a fun roller coaster. On our first meeting there was not much open, but as we all started to get to know each other a great communication was open and the excitement of planning the food sparked and we where all in the same awesome train to make a fantastic adventure together.
The tasting was one that we would never forget. As you all may know we do our tasting in our clients home and they invite a few friends to have 6 in total, they bring alcohol, we bring food and it is a personal in-home chef experience, a small ‘taste’ of what their menu was all going to be about. We all had a great time, made the necessary arrangement and off we where ready for the next steps.
Wedding Day
This is when all the planning and all the details come into play. Since we all had a great communication we where all ready to enjoy their selection of food choices and just ready to have a great time at The Preserve at Bingham Hill Event Center.

This day became an amazing moment as we had the pleasure to cater for a gorgeous family that created their wedding in their home overlooking a lake. A true pleasure to collaborate with such an amazing family and great professionals in the realm.

The Adventure...
It all started like any other given day. A few calls here, and there exchanging ideas and dreams to be made. For us the adventure of doing their wedding sounded more and more appealing. They wanted to do it at their gorgeous home, we where going to collaborate with great artists, the family was amazing to talk to, it was just a great flow of events... Then the tasting.
The Tasting...
This day was a fabulous one. We got to really meet everyone involved in the wedding as we were creating the wedding tasting. Their home kitchen is like a dream kitchen and so we got into our outfits and all together where just enjoying the moment; laughs, jokes, smiles, food, drinks and companionship was all there. This by the way is the recopy to any successful gathering... in the end we where all ready for the big day to arrive. =D
Jenny, Grace & Brian, thank you so much for this wonderful day!! What a great gift was to be able to share this day with you. =D
The Wedding Day...
Juli & I love to get tour events as early as we can. We do not like to work under pressure as you cannot completely create the necessary bonding with the battle field. We need to allow the creative aspect to flow and to be able to understand what would be the best way to create the logistics, organize and deliver everything in the timely manner... and all having a fabulous time during the process. The kitchen was ready, the food was warming, the wedding was starting and at this point, there is only one thing to do; let go and enjoy the ride.
We served to 165 guests in a "Family Style" dinner. Casey Muller from Pink Dimond Events (event Planner) outdid herself delivering and coordinating a magical day. Way to go!!! and together along many other artist we where able to give Grace & Brian, and their family and friends a memorable day in a celebration of love.

The Day...
I am not going to lie, this day was a true Colorado Climate Temper day... I think the Gods could not decide if the weather was going to be rainy, hail, sunny, windy, calm... As everyone inside the gorgeous venue of Windsong Estate Events Center was trying to accommodate to each change of climate, the kitchen was getting ready and then waiting, then ready then waiting... a true adventure as we see it. We were running outside to bring hot food from the ovens in a crazy moment of rain, and then 30 seconds after, the sun was coming out... It is so true what people in Colorado say about their weather... "Ohh It's Colorado Weather!!" which really it just means, anything can happen regardless of the day and season.

It was a random day and we got a submission form on our email.... a new adventure was a about to start, or was it not?
We meet these two amazing souls on life's crazy tides, and I have to say that we had an amazing connection since the very first moment. We left our meeting hoping that they had the same feeling and we could all have a blast together!!
Lucky for us, they wanted to move on and do a tasting... and then the tasting day was here, and I will never forget those amazing Margaritas!! Wow! Both open their door to us and we had a great time. It was them, and a couple of other great friends!! Laughs where flowing, love was rising and the tasting food was reaching their table. On a blink of an eye, it was wedding day. Their venue of choice was Block One Events in the heart of Fort Collins.
Our team arrived and we got to production on creating our space to make magic, and to collaborate with other amazing vendors who had done such a great! Amazing Job from event planner Alexandra Valenti!! Three long tables, and great DJ, Music, drinks and food from all over the world.
We loved having this opportunity as we loved that in their full vegetarian menu, they wanted to showcase that there is plenty of great food out there to not have to kill animals in order to have a feast. I know that with that amazing and caring mentality, you two will reach great deiptness in you life. We thank you for making us part of your celebration and for allowing us to express our love for the Culinary Arts. It was an absolute pleasure and we hope that life keep us having more adventures together. We wish you a great safe journey of love and companionship, and to continue to explore the most majestic gift of life; LOVE.

On June 5th we jumped out of our third straight month of Mexican Cuisine and we started traveling into other directions of street flavors in our world. We decided that Greece was going to be our next destination. We also decided to make things a little simpler and since it's summer, we thought "Why not do it outside?" At 95 degrees, it was a hot day for sure!! =D

"Street Food Tuesday" came out of our belief that we can unite our community through food. Our awesome crew, Juli & I believe that a world that moves together is a stronger world... and what better way to get to know other cultures than food? We are creatures who are somewhat confused of the term fear. It does not matter what meaning it has; we normally run in the opposite direction. But, in our crazy minds' process we feel that fear is our compass, and instead of running away
from fear, which is kind of crazy because you cannot run when it lives inside you, is what you should face, conquer, make it normal, realize that the unknown is a great place to be, it makes our lives more adventurous. It depends how you see it, how you believe it.
We believe that if we can keep exploring our world through food, we can realize what other cultures have to offer, and we can cross those imaginary lines that divide us. That, if we get to know each other, we can realize that we are not as different as we might think... We all share very similar traits, with some little changes of color and flavor, as food does. We invite you to come with us and travel the world on a culinary ride that will take you through many street food flavors around the world! This is part of our contribution, it is our way to unite our community and share our passion for a brighter and better future.

Tostadas is what happened!!
This little community gathering is growing each month, and we could not be more grateful with everyone that has attended!! From a little simple idea of selling tacos it has developed to a walk around the world taste of streets food. Tostadas is what happened!!
This little community gathering is growing each month, and we could not be more grateful to everyone that has attended!! From a little simple idea of selling tacos, it has developed to a walk around the world taste of streets food. So far we have had plenty of Mexican Street Foods, but in our June 5th appearance we are taking a flight to Greece!! and experience GREEK STREET FOOD from our perspective!!
This idea of gatheirng and sharing is one of the most memorable community driven envoronments of why we fell in love with Fort Collins, and we are here to put our little grain of sand to the beach. Again thanks to everyone and hope to you all soon!!

This Past Week We Got The First Taste of Street Food Tuesday!!!
As promised a great collaboration between Juli y Juan's Kitchen and The Articulate came together to create a small Pop-Up Taco Station that we hope to see more and more people. This will happen the first Tuesday of each month and we will be bringing street food recipes from all over the world to change the flavor and flair of your lunch time!!

Date Night Cooking Classes Were a Hit!!!

A few days ago, Juli & I, gave our first cooking class at Ginger & Baker's Teaching Kitchen. Since we move to Fort Collins, we have been trying to create an environment where we can teach. It is our passion to share our love for the Culinary Arts, and our love to preserve the knowledge of good food. We believe that "in order for Life to bless you with more knowledge, it is imperative that you share the one you have acquired by Life.", for us it is some sort of trade we play.

The Teaching Kitchen
This arena has the greatest vision we have seen since we move to Fort Collins, and it is perfect for any lover in the kitchen. It allows you to implement and teach the Culinary Arts. Everything is just perfect to work with. There is a flow, there is light, there are toys, and space to move. We are grateful for Ginger and Baker to have provided such a space for the Community to grow and submerge in the spirit of joy, laugh, and sharing.
The First Class
Although this was our second class in the Teaching Kitchen, it was the first open to the public for Juli & I. We had a blast, what a wonderful moment we share with 16 amazing souls. Thank you all for this incredible time, and for opening your heart to listening to our nonsenses in the class. We hope that you had the best of times and we hope to see you guys again very soon!! =D

The party was a lot of fun and we all integrated into an amazing atmosphere, with John E. Hunt as a bartender keeping everyone served and happy!!!

This Christmas for the second year in a row, Savant Homes Inc., has called Juli and I to help out with their Company Christmas Party by collaborating on a special gathering that everyone would enjoy... What exactly happened in the party will be in the memories of everyone that was there, and I can say that it was a privilege to have been part of something so magical and unique!!
Kim, Al and the rest of your amazing team, we Thank you for being a pleasure to hang with, and for embracing us the same way have embraced you. This experience for us stays in our memories for long. We can only wish that you all keep up that amazing energy!!
